Tip 156 – The value of perspective in skillful negotiation & management!


Understanding someone’s perspective may be helpful!

Periodically I revisit the great work by Daniel Goleman, “Working with Emotional Intelligence.” I highly recommend his work!

He speaks about the value of understanding someone’s perspective and knowing why they feel the way they do, is not giving in. in his words “but to more skillful negotiation and management individuals, understanding someone’s perspective and demonstrating empathy, tough decisions may generate less resentment and lasting ill will.”
